I am setting up a Windows 2000 computer to be used by 5 roommates. To help protect everyones privacy I would like to automatically log each person off after a set amount of inactivity (perhaps a screensaver setup?). Can anyone tell me the best way to go about this? I know I can't use the default screensaver and power saving features as they require the same user to log back in or an admin... Thanks for your help everyone.

You can use the Logon Screen Saver. It will force the user to re-logon after the screen saver has started.

Right click anywhere on the Desktop, click Properites then the Screen Saver tab.

From the screen savers list select "Logon Screen Saver" and tick Password Protect. Change the timeout to whatever you want.

You can also create a ShortCut on your Desktop to lock the Workstation (good if you want to just walk away and know its locked!).

Right click on the Desktop, select New and Shortcut. In the location type...

rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Click Next and give the shortcut a name. Just doubleclick the shortcut to lock the workstation.
New Zealand, a great place to live.

Thanks guys, I think I will download the screensaver until I find something they can't change. Also, doesn't an admin or the originally logged in user have to log in to get out of darraagl's method? Or can anyone logg in (this is a necessity ...)Thanks Again.
