Can these be recycled after the number has been expired?

The Barcode ID is used to label the tape the first time it is mounted in the tape drive.

To re-use a barcode for another media you must first check that the original tape is exipired and remove it (GUI)from Netbackup (because even when it is recycled it remains in Netbackup as a tape eligible for recycling, and it still exist in the media database).

Then you can apply the old barcode to a new tape (ideally you should re-label the old tape or be sure that you'll not re-use it with this Netbackup server, this to be sure that you won't have two media IDs for one "Catalog Description").

Bye.

Where, if possible, would you get more barcode ID labels?

Thanks again for your help!
