I've got a DSL modem and I'm looking to use ICS on a Windows XP Pro box to allow my other 3 PC's to use the internet.

Everything I've seen says that you can't (or shouldn't) use ICS on a domain, but they don't say why. I've got a Win2K domain on my other 3 boxes. Why can't I connect these modems to the XP box and have it run ICS?

Do I have to go to a DSL router or can this work without one?

Thanks,

The problem with ICS is it requires the 192.168.0.0 IP scheme. I suspect your Domain is 192.168.1.0 IP scheme. Setting it up this way requires more administration to get the two networks to talk. That is why it is not reccomended for Domains. James Collins
