Is it safe to put my ICS system in a non-ventilated closet?

we have to put systems in closets all the time sometimes even worse places...as long as it's not 90 degrees in there you'll be fine.

If it was a Partner, I'd say no. They're really power hungry, and tend to run HOT.

With a Norstar, you should be ok... within reason. (don't set the KSU on a water heater, etc...)

or in the janitors sink (found one like that)

ICS systems generally have low power consumption. They do not get very hot at all. Just as Riki pointed out, if it were a Partner, you wouldn't do that. I have one customer with a Partner who had a card overheat and damage part of the system. So, with an ICS, you can put it in a non-vented room.

Thanks guys. The system is now installed in the closet and running strong.

I would still put in a small fan and have it oscillitate. Closed rooms do temd to get hot all by themselves, especially in the summer.
