Does anyone know if it is possible to do a Password recovery on a 140 as the company I work for purchased 3 second hand systems before I joined them and assumed that the IMS backdoor would work! I fired one up today to use in our lab but hit the password and obviously the old backdoor doesn't work (knew that before I started) so I'm looking for a legitimate means of recovering the password (possibly similar to the IVS/IPS method of taking the system offline) or alternatively does anyone know how to delete all customer data (password included) without deleting the system files (the install manual assumes a clean install and I would like to load a customers data but can't see how to do that without having the existing password)?

Please don't attempt to post any passwords or Hacks, I am only interested in legitimate means of doing this.

I'm more of an IPS person so when it comes to the big systems I'm just at best competent and not that privvy to the finer points of the system!

Any help would be appreciated!

was the IMS password related to the date ?
I seem to remember a backdoor but cant remember what system it was for ?
Ill check my notes
HOw can I tell you without posting it here ?

Close it was time related but it doesn't work for the 140 onwards. If you have anything that is unsuitable for posting on an open forum, let me know and I will see if it is possible to direct you somewhere you can contact me!
