Hi,

I have an issue where I have 7 IP lunks to other clustered systems that all show as establisted, I have also run the rmess command on each link and comes back fine - the problem is that the this system is still showing a fault with one of them (see below)

---------------+--------+-------+-------+-------+---------+---------+----------
|Total In| Unavailable | Alarm Threshold Percentages
Category | System | Total | % | Alarm | MINOR | MAJOR | CRITICAL
---------------+--------+-------+-------+-------+---------+---------+----------
ICP Comms Card | 7 | 1 | 14 % | Minor | > 0 % | 25 % | 100 % |
---------------+--------+-------+-------+-------+---------+---------+----------

Signalling | Link | Dest | XNET | State | Owner | ID |Status
Dvc Location |Handle|Switch| Trunk Id | | | |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 1 11 | | 2 | |Idle | | |
1 1 11 254 | 3 | 3 | |Established | | |
1 1 11 4 |156 | 12 | |Established | | |
1 1 11 3 |195 | 13 | |Established | | |
1 1 11 252 | 5 | 14 | |Established | | |
1 1 11 250 | 7 | 15 | |Established | | |
1 1 11 2 |197 | 16 | |Established | | |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any ideas how I can clear this?

You need to test Rmess both directions

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

are you sat=ying that you have done rmess on all 7 systems on all links ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yes, there is no fault with the IP links whatsoever! Calls can be made over the links also. The issue is not with the links themselves its the fact that the system is seeing an alarm that doesn't exist. I have also busied all xnet and then rts them, still no good.

As this system is live and supports a large organization I haven't rebooted yet. I am going to schedule this with them and hopefully this clears the alarms.

If calls between the systems are possible and you are getting ICP comms errors then try changing the timers in the controller registry for health checks.

If the alarm is in fact a true alarm then I would think that one of the other systems would also be reporting an alarm or at least the IP trunks going in and out of service. My guess is based on your description that you are not seeing that. If it was more then one error I might suggest looking at the vMWare itself in that it could be effecting the connection out of the vMCD. I think sadly that a reboot may be required. You might want to check for a newer load of MCD and upgrade instead of a simple reboot.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
