Icons on screen are weired

I have a Mac computer that suddenly has strange generic icons on the screen. How do I fix these icons so they show the correct icon picture?

What operating system are you on? Try zapping the PRAM(Hold down the Option+Command+P+R keys at startup) rebuilding permissions(in Disk Utility). You may want to run Disk Warrior. Do you perform maintenance on a regular basis?

Problem fixed. Although, I now have a new one.
