icons in listview windows xp

Hey.

I am trying to use some icons with a listView object. The icons look ok on windows vista, but on xp they don't look clear.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What file format are you using? Do they include transparency?

I usually open all images in PhotoShop and save them as .png files for the best quality.

I am using .ico files, made in visual studio

Oh ok - you will want to get an icon editor that will allow you to have multiple icon size/bit levels.

An example would be Axialis icons (you can download a demo) and create the Vista Icons, XP Icons, and pre-xp icons. They are all saved in a single file that way and will adjust according the OS it's being used on.
