Icon "Safely remove hardware" in Tray

I have installed the HP Deskjet 5940 .
What's the use of this icon (small green arrow)in the Tray that says "Safely remove hardware".
I have not installed any software for this printer.
Only updated the driver.
I don't see the necessity of this icon, only in the eventuality that I would remove the printer.
How can I get rid of this?

That must be standard with usb devices. I use a usb printer too and see the same icon.
