icon like image in your Explorer favourites list

I know that this was discussed on one of the forums, but be darned if I can find the thread.

I read this post and thought , that is something I want! I followed the link and read the info, and thought yeah! And then I came across a problem that I've had before... How do you make a .ico icon. What program can make them, I remember trying this before...for hoourrsss!!

Powerbuilder is a whole application development tool, a bit of overkill for icons. I did do a search today to find icon creation tools and found several. If you do a search you should be able to find several that are shareware or freeware. Here are a couple I found.

I don't know anything really about either of them as I have not had a chance to try out either one. But if neither of them suit you you may want to consider doing a search of your own, there are several of them out there. Microangelo is the best for icons!!! i dont know where you can get it, but just do a search for it. trust me it is the best!!!!!!!! [sig][/sig]

I actually downloaded the favicon trial version and it actually worked very well. It even took the bitmap logo we have and converted it for me. I only had to make a few touch ups to it.

I had heard that Microangelo was very good from someone else as well, but that it was expensive. When only one icon needs to be generated that is just not feasible for us.

As to what I did with the icon I added it to the root of the web as they say to do. That did not seem to work although it may be that I already had a bookmark for it. So I added the link tag
