We just recompiled a project using the same icon etc and it doesn't show properly when you alt tab to scroll thru apps that are running. it shows properly at bottom of screen. Is this a Windows Vista thing?

It this a new situation?
Your icon should be composed of two icons in one (16x16 and 32x32).

The icon that appears "at the bottom of the screen" (I assume you mean the taskbar) is the one that's assigned to _SCREEN.Icon.

The one that appears in Windows is the one that's assigned to the project:

1. Go to Project / Project Info

2. Tick the "Attach icon" box.

3. Click the Icon button and choose the ICO file.

Also, the ICO file needs to contain icons of various sizes. To be certain you're covering every case, make sure it has icons at 16x16, 24x24, 32x32 and 48x48. You'll need an icon editor to do that. If you don't have one, search for a freeware icon editor; there are several available.

thx everyone - seems to be a problem with our new icon which is supposed to be 16x16.

For application logo icons you should provide multiple sizes (16x16-256x256) and color depth in your ico files...

...this allows Windows to do it's thing and your ico will always look as good as it can since it won't have to scale it when rendering.
