Our switchboard operator uses a 2250 console to process calls. We have a need to identify calls coming to the console from a specific internal line. I've set it up so the internal calls come to the console on an LDN, which is assigned to an ICI key. Unfortunately the operator can only see that button lit up when they are between calls and the console is idle.

Is there a work-around for this situation, so the operator can identify calls coming in like this even if the console is busy?

Thanks for any help.

There isn't a good way to prioritize a specific call type or to "spot it right away" when it is in queue on the 2250. You get calls in order, and your are pretty much stuck with that.

However, having it come to a specific ICI is good - even better would be the set the DN Name to something special, like "E M E R G E N C Y" or whatever your purpose is.

Since you didn't mention name, make sure your console has it full display capability turned on - it is VERY easy to disable the feature inadvertently.

In "OPT" make sure you *have* "IDP" and "do not have* "XDP"

To correct it, enter "IDP" at any OPT prompt in the LD15 Customer Data Block.
