ICA Service needs constant restart

At mid day the published apps disappear from the applications manager on the clients desktop. I have to restart the service to get the published app to show up again.

History:
The application is a home grown app that was written in VB and uses several different components, including applications like Word, Crystal reports, and mdac.

The way the app works is the data is stored on a sql server, the application files are on another server, and the shortcut to app server is on 2 citrix servers. The components like word and crystal is installed on the citrix servers.

A few points that may make a difference.
1. If someone opens several documents at the same time instead of opening several windows within word97, several different versions of word are open.

2. A total of 30 people get on 1 server and 12 on the other.

3. Restarting the service almost always solves the problem. Sometimes we have to go into the published application manager and change 1 option, click ok, go back and change the same option back. The application is published.

Questions:
1. Is there a limit of users that the ICA Service can take?

2. Can applications cause the ICA Service to crap out?

System:
Citrix 1.8 all patched.
2 Dell PowerEdge 4300's. 4 processors 1gig mem.
P3 processors 733 mhz. Machines are on same subnet and 1 server is set as browse master, the other is not backup nor chooses to be master.

Thanks for the help.

If it is Winnt 4.0 TSE sp6 you need to install q269214 from microsoft. after you install delete the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Hotfix\ any other besides q269214 and then reboot the server.
Check out the article by Microsoft first.
Good Luck,
Steve

We experience the same problem here!
All of a sudden the application sets goes blank and if we restart the program neighbourhood service it appears again.
It has happened a few times the last weeks and it's getting annoying.
We have a MF 1.8 Fr1 on a Win2000 SP1 server, hardware is ok. Not much load on the server either.

The last thing we did was updating the server running term services licensing to SP3. Could this be an issue when there are different SP levels on the Citrix server and the license server?
