Can anyone tell me the .ica file syntax? What I'd like to do is create a bunch of .ica's through Citrix Management Console and put them on a few users desktops (They are using another citrix published desktop). I would like them to be able to click on this icon and it would use pass-through authentication (what they used to login the desktop) to open the app. Is that possible? I can't find how to enable pass-through though

Hope this helps:

How to Enable Pass-Through Authentication within an ICA File

Note: The following assumes that user-specific profiles are being used on the client workstations running Windows 9x/ME/2000/xp operating systems:

1. In the Appsrv.ini file of the user’s profile, add the following lines at the bottom of the [wfclient] section:

SSOnUserSetting=On

EnableSSOnThruICAFile=On

2. In the .ica file you want to use, add the following line in the [Application] section (this is the section where all the settings like resolution or encryption are stored):

UseLocalUserAndPassword=On

Note: This change has to be made individually to the Appsrv.ini file for each user. Users must have the full Program Neighborhood Client installed and have Use Local Username and Password selected for logon in the ICA Settings menu.

Example:

[ApplicationServers]

notepad1=

UseLocalUserAndPassword=On (incorrect location)

[notepad1]

Address=notepad1

InitialProgram=#notepad1

ClientAudio=On

AudioBandwidthLimit=2

Compress=On

TWIMode=On

DesiredHRES=640

DesiredVRES=480

DesiredColor=2

TransportDriver=TCP/IP

WinStationDriver=ICA 3.0

UseLocalUserAndPassword=On (correct location)

Here is the entire article.
thx

Did exactly as it says to do but still no joy :(

Nevermind, it did work. Is there any way to specify a global setting for citrix program neighborhood to enable pass through authentication and logon using local name? They are check boxes in program neighborhood and I'd like to just make those defaults for all users logging in (since I don't give access the the PM in my published desktop)

You will have to push out a modified version of appserv.ini to all users who log into the box.
You can probably do it with kix or a simple batch file.
That should do it.

Can pass-through authentication be done using the ICA web client 7.X? We currently deploy the ICA32t.exe out to the client and would like to continue using it. We launch the .ica file from a JSP hyperlink. This is done several places within our web application and we don't want the user to have to log in everytime they kick off an ICA file.
