I have 4 Metaframe servers that are not in a Farm. One server is setup as ICA Browser and one is setup as Backup, the others are not in the selection pool and during peak load times in the middle of day I will log into Citrix Administrator and only the server that I am logged onto shows up and any test Metaframe servers I have that have little or no load. Does anyone know of a solution to servers not showing up in Citrix Administrator ran on another server. All are in the same Domain and subnet. I do a qserver command and all servers show up but not in Citrix Server Administrator tool. Metaframe verstion 1.8 Service Pack 3 and all hotfixes (Q267896 and Q269214)

Are these Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Servers? If so then...

You have browser issues. Use Browmon.exe from the Resource kit to help determine your master browsers, then look at the event logs to determine if your master browser is having issues.

THe browser list in Citrix Server Administrator is determined by Netbios for Windows NT 4.0 or Win NT and 2K mixed enviorments.

A couple things to look for.

Do you have restrict anonymous checked? This key is found in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA

Setting should be 0 on Citrix servers (yes I know this is less secure, but machines cannot recieve a browse list on Windows NT 4.0 domains when this is set to 1 (or 2 on a Windows 2000 Server).

Are all of your servers configured to use WINS? They should be, even in active directory I have seen Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Servers flake out when not using WINS for naming services.

Troubleshoot Netbios problems in event viewer, it could be that the Citrix server is unable to update from the Master Browser.

If you can provide more information I can assist you further.

Remember, settings for browser services for MS networks typically take 7 minutes to take effect, so after making fixes give it 10 minutes to evaluate if the problem is solved.

Let me know if this helps!

Theres 2 values that can be used to control the "Browser"....in Citrix Admin setting the "Browser Update Delay" and "Browser Update Interval" values can sometimes help overcome these disappearing servers!! Try setting the Update delay to 1 or 2 seconds and the interval value to 10.......We have ongoing problems with exactly this issue.....I think the next step we are going to try is a "dedicated Master Browser".....there's an article on this at the following link.....

Hope this helps...........

I am using Windows NT 4.0 SP6 and I think you were meaning the key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\AnonymousUsers where each anonymous userid is set to 0. Well I have them set to zero but all the anonymous accounts have been disabled would this affect browsing. We have Netbios over TCP/IP enabled and only TCP/IP as installed protocol. This is a full NT 4.0 environment with DNS and WINS.

To Highland , I have played with these ICA Browser settings and it did not help, but I will look at this link and go further.
