IC Ship-To Question

Hi,

This is an odd situation and I've told our users I don't think there's anyway around it, but I wanted to throw this out there for comments before closing this topic with them.

Our organization has many extremely remote locations that our international suppliers won't ship to, so we end up having to ship to a central point and then distribute from that point either with a local shipper or ourselves. The issue we have with this is that in Accpac the inventory is received in Accpac at the ship to location from the PO screen, but this isn't necessarily where we want the inventory received. Many times our inventory is immediately passed on through that location to another location and IC users are having to perform an shipment in IC and I don't see anyway around this. Basically they wish they had a final destination where the goods would be received in inventory which is different than the shipping address on the PO.

Any suggestions?

Setup an IC location code for the final destination - but the location address will still be the PO delivery address.

I'm facing the same issue.
Problem with ettienne's suggestion is that you can't keep track on where the items are - at the final location or at your distribution centre.
Haven't found a way around it either, besides receipting it im one location and then doing a transfer.

Yea, the only thing I could think of would be an automatic forward option (which doesn't exist), but otherwise the users are trying to have the system automate a step for them and that's not how most systems are designed.
