Is there a way of cleaning and deleting all item records and history so as to start the setup again.

No, start a new IC in a new company and then merge the data by doing a dump/load.

The company has data for other modules which should be maintained only for IC is the one which is not required.

Does this method suggested maintain the data for the other modules?

You didn't understand what he said.

1. Create a new empty company
2. Fix IC in the new company
3. Dbdump the new company
4. Dbdump the old company
5. Copy IC*.REC from the new dump folder to the old dump folder
6. Dbload the old company
