Hi,

I'm setting up a new company and attempting to export the item list from company A to company B and when I do I get the error "Attempt to modify a different record than was retrieved".

It happens on the 3rd record in the file and I've reviewed the data from company A and I don't see any issue with the item. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Accpac 5.6A.

Ian

Import into company B ... excel 97/2000.

The sort order looks fine in the file, but how do I know if UOMS is case sensitive?

Case sensitive collation order in A, "Ea" and "EA" units on one item.
Case insensitive collation order in B.

It looks like I have "UNIT" for all values so I'm not sure what the issue is ...

Something basic is wrong, I've done this a hundred times and never seen that error.

Did you edit the spreadsheet before you imported?
Are both IC's configured the same?
Are there any third-party modules?

Appreciate the help ... I haven't modified the spreadsheet and the ICs should be the exact same. I'm going to need to take a day to put some investigation into it to find the differences.

To close this off it was due to bad data, though I couldn't pinpoint any hidden characters or anything else that should cause an issue.

Records had things like consecutive dashes in the item number (ex. XXX--XXXXX) or commas in the description or other records appeared to have no apparent issue.
