Ibm x342 display question

Hi!

In the display on one of my ibm x342 servers i have a (i) and a ! lit.

Any knows where i can find info on what it is trying to tell me? :)

It basically means that the system management processor found a problem. Put off the top cover and take a look at the diagnostic panel. The Hardware Maintenance Manual (ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/pc_servers_pdf/24p2922.pdf) will explain you everything about error messages.

The (i) is an informational message
the (!) is a system error message.

More than likely your system is running on non-redundant power (one cable unplugged). as Wacammaw stated, look at the lightpath diagnostics panel inside the machine to isolate the component that is causing the error.

It could just mean the ASM log file is full. I get a lot of these because the log is filling up due to user disabled onboard SCSI messages. Check the asm log file.
