I have a IBM workpad c3 installed and working on Windows XP. It also currently has its own base station that connects to AC Power and a serial port (COMM 1). When I plug in the USB travel hotsync connector, there is no option on the palm to notice the USB. In the hotsync menu there is serial and IR. I installed a special driver I had for the USB, which installed the Cable correctly, but still a no go. Any advice?

Yes! The solution is not to change anything on your handheld. Your handheld is "dumb" and do not know if it is a USB or serial interface you are using to hotsynch your device with your desktop software.

Right-click your hotsynch icon in the lower right corner of your screen. Check if Local USB is marked as the hotsynch interface and/or if the Local Serial is marked.
Only one of those should be marked (matching the interface of your hotsynch cradle. If USB is not marked, mark it. If serial is ALSO marked, unmark this ... cause if both of them are marked ... there could be some confusion during hotsynch wich interface to use.

Try it and let me know what happens. :)
