ibm wireless card disconects

i have an ibm A31 laptop with an inbuilt wireless 801.11b network adapter, the problem is that evry time i stop using the conection it disconects and scans(i think) for other wireless AP's

how can i stop this from hapening??

Check the properties of the adapter to ensure that no power management features are enabled. There might even be a setting in the BIOS to put the adapter to "sleep" if there is a lack of activity. Use Control Panel, Power Options, as well to make certain no power options are set for the adapter.

i used to have the same problem. i solved it by disabling WEP.
