IBM ThinkPad 600 - Screen not full

I have been trying to resolve a problem with this think pad. It started with the CMOS battery going dead - after replacing the battery I was able to boot the system to Windows 98 - but instead of having a screen that is full (take up the full screen) - I have a screen size that has been reduced (about 2" of dead space - it is almost like a minimized my windows). I went to IBM's website and downloaded a current video driver - but that did not help.

Have you checked the data in the bios to be sure it is correct?

What resolution is it running at sounds like may have defaulted to 400x600

It really sounds exactly like my machine before the video drivers are installed. Since it started with a loss of bios data...
