Has anybody ever heard of this?
I have few servers in my farm that do not have a device driver loaded for an ASM in W2K, but I do see one or two "IBM Dummy Device" drivers loaded. Is this the ASM with wrong device driver loaded?

This is no good for me because without an ASM, Director will not load the Managment Processor Agent and I need the agent to review and clear the BIOS Event Logs.

One of these servers is an x225.

IBM xSeries servers without the RSA/RSA II ASM controller do have a limited-function ASM device - the Integrated Systems Management Processor (ISMP). There is not a device driver for it (limited functionality), but if you interconnect (via RS-485) the ISMP on a bus that has an RSA/RSA II, you can access the ISMP and clear the System Event Logs through the RSA/RSA II connection. This can be done regardless of the state of the server as long as power is connected, and does not have any OS dependencies.
