Hi,
Appreciate very much if someone could help to diagnose this error.
When on the IBM Netfinity 5600, it will boot up with following error messages:
1) SCSI Bios not installed.
2) Warning 1 logical drive critical
Warning 1 Online drive defunct
3) Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing/corrupt <windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please reinstall a copy of the above file.

This server got 4 hardisk with raid being installed.
Only 1st hardisk got orange light.

Taken following steps but still failed:
1) Put in ServeRAID 4.20 Support CD, 2 HD defunct no 1 & 4. Make no 4 online and no 1 still defunct.
2) clean the hardisk and open up to clean ther server. Put in ServeRAID 4.20 Support CD, all the hardisk is online.
3) boot the server with Windows 2000 server CD, encounter error message:
Server did not find any HD drives installed in your computer. Make sure any HD drives are powered on and properly connected to yrou computer and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve using a manufacturer supplied diagnostic/setup ....
Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.
4) Put in ServeRAID 4.20 Support CD, now HD defunct no 1 shows defunct.
5) Call up IBM and they suspect the ServeRAID-4M part number 39R8845 is damage. Is it confirm this card damage?

IBM labour and hardware charges is very expensive. Appeciate very much if you can provide trouble shooting, where to get the parts in Malaysia or any company provide rental on the parts in Malaysia?
Thank you.

go into the mini config, and test the scsi hard drives one at a time. Also, the raid drivers are not included in win2k, so it won't find the drives, you must load them from floppy with F6. hdd 1 keeps going offline, I would suspect that as being the problem over the raid card. It is more than possible that the array is corrupt and will need to be rebuild from a backup, after the failing hardware is replaced.
