Hi I have just acquired a netfinity 5500 and am having a few problems. I have 6 9.9gig drives installed on the raid but it does not register any as logical (and I can’t see where I can set one as logical). When I try to run the server set up CD from IBM it starts to load the java and says I need at least 256 Meg to run but I have over 700 Meg on the server. Any help would be appreciated as this is doing my head in now.

hi,

your machine is:

I suggest you to don't use such CD, but downlad, if you have not, the last ServeRAID cd. Go in:

here you find all device driver for your box (nt4 or w2k)
and click on "ServeRAID" link, then "v6.10", then
the floppy icon in column "Microsoft Windows (Certified)"

the best is if you can download the iso file 90p2772.iso
(500 mb) and make a CD from this. This boots in Linux and by this you can configure Raid, and on it you can find driver for adapter for your OS.

bye

You will have to configure an Array and Logical Drive from ServeRAID Manager (on the ServeRAID CD). When complete, the OS will see the Logical Drive as a physical Disk. If using the lastest version of ServeRAID, you will have to manually specify the ServeRAID driver during installation of the OS.
