I am trying to load an IBM Netfinity 5000 with server 2000.
4 - 18Gig SCSI drives
1 - Adaptec Controller

I have never loaded an IBM before. Only Compaqs and Dells.
Those machines come with a bootable CD that starts the install process. Does anyone know if such a disk/utilty exists for the IBM?

Thanks

Well, as far as I know the Windows 2000 Server CD is a bootable disk. What you will need to do is change the BIOS default to boot off the CD-ROM drive, assuming it won't boot off that automatically, and then insert a floppy disk with the relevant Adaptec SCSI driver when prompted. This prompt appears very soon after initial bootup on the CD. Or, you could try hitting <F6> several times immediately after the CD starts booting. This will then prompt you to put in the floppy driver disk at a marginally earlier stage in the proceedings...

Good luck!

ROGER.
