IBM Flat Screen Flashing

I'm using an IBM flat screen monitor type 9516. Recently, it has begun to flash on and off steadily for a few seconds (~20-30) before staying off. I can immediately turn it off and back on and the problem repeats itself.

Can anyone help me diagnose the problem and whether it can be corrected?

Firstly I would try to determine if is is a video signal fault or infact the monitor itself.
The monitor requires a video signal to turn on? and it must have this imput without interuption.
So try attaching the monitor to another system to eliminate this possible reason.
If it still faulters then it probably is the monitor and as these are so new? it should be within it's 3 years SWOP OUT warranty period. Just fill out the online claims form or ring the tel number given, and they should come out to your house/business and exchange it. Vote if you found this post helpful please!!
