Hi,
I'm using IBM's DS8000 Storage Manager in simulated mode
to learn about the DS8000. (We don't have a real DS8000
yet so I have to use simulated mode.)
In simulated mode, it eventually fails. I define the complex, unit, image, volume group, but it fails when I try to define an extent pool. I get a "unable to create rank; licensed capacity has been exceeded."
You'd think in simulated mode, licensing wouldn't be an issue. If anyone has an idea what's wrong I'd like to know.
Also, can anyone supply an example config file?
When I saved my incomplete config it went to
c:\Program Files\IBM\dsniserver\xml\olc_2011_01_14-07_47_22.xlm
If anyone has a config file created from the DS8000 Storage Manager I think I'd be able to load it without any licensing issues and learn how a successful config looks.
Thanks.
