IBM Aptiva HD problem

I have a Aptiva ( 1997 vintage) does not reconize HD (seagate 15 gig) I put a 450 meg Western digital in it that I use for a spare. I have tried all the different settings in the setup utility. It reconizes WD hard drive but I get a 1780 error on bootup. If I continue and boot with a floppy I can't see the drive.

Try to update the BIOS from IBM site
