I am trying to setup an IBM server, running AIX 4.3.3, to connect to a tape library. I am using the IBM 6227 HBA on the host server. Could someone tell me if I can do persistent bindings using this HBA or is it capable of doing only auto-maps?

If I can do persistent bindings, what is the utility I run to check and verify such settings?

Thanks for your help.

FC bindings are more persistent if you use smit to set them up, just like SCSI or SSA (diag might be of some help to diagnose link too)

Hello,
The filesets are device.pci.df1000f7.*

then lsattr -El fscsi0 will show you info.
lsdev -Cc adapter will show you if it is configure.

sometimes higher maintenace level patch is needed or newer firmware - check newest install guide from ibm.com
