I just installed the new version of AVG (10), and the full scan has pulled out Delphi7\demos\db\ibx\IBSilentInstall\ibinstall.dll as being 'a corrupt executable'.
It will probly want to delete this when its done, Now i dont do database programming and have never used the Interbase components or ever intend to.
So is it OK to have this deleted.

To be honest by the time anyone reads this, I will have made a decision to delete it! Its in the demos folder afterall.
Hang on its finding more courrupt exe's (not in my delphi install), I need to get more info on what its actually detecting.

AVG (and all anti-virus software) will sometimes report false positives. There are web services where you can upload a file to test for viruses.

One accounting package I had was quarantined by AVG after an update - I reinstalled the software from CD and the problem appeared - then, after my machine updated, it affected me as well. AVG was made aware of the problem and released a patch within 4 hours.

You might wait for your next AV update and scan again.
