It looks as though your terminal is trying to run in redundancy and still thinks that it is running on 8 30 2010.

Open the Aloha.ini in Notepad and edit the Date Of Buisness to be today's date.

Delete any and all .log files from Data on the terminal and on the Server. Should be trans.log, Mirror.log and a bunch of PRT.logs.

Make sure the Time and date on the terminal operating system is correct.

Turn off all terminals and boot only terminal 1.

DELETED ALL .LOG FILES ON BOH AND TERM1 STILL HANGS ON REQUIREMENT RULE.. NEW DEBOUT

You might try loading from a different terminal. You will have to edit the downtime.ini which is not normally advisable. In this case it might be the only way. Change it so that the Master terminal is whichever terminal you will be booting and change the Filserver to match the Server variable of the server, usually "ALohaBoh". Turn off term 1 and boot up this terminal.

we have 2 terms and term1 is master. the other term was set to master and fileserv to alohaboh. turned off term 1 and rebooted other term boots with same error. is there a setting missing from the boh thats causing this problem.there is a bunch of debouts on this term and a runonce exe file

Hi Lost,

The error that you are seeing is an Aloha Dump. This can be caused by various kinds of Aloha Application problems.

Have you recently made any changes to your system? I.e. Update Aloha, install new software?

When did this first occur? Did you come in one day and the terminals were not working? Was it in the middle of a shift?

came in 1 day and there it was..did an ip change to the boh and the terms due to a gateway issue with the pms system .the resturaunt's ip's were lower than the gateway on the pms and was told to change them to a higher ip so i did and system in aloha ran fine all day and ran eod with no problemcame in next morning and the terms had that iber performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. so i did a reboot on the boh and the terms with the same error comming up.i set the ip's back to to the way they were and rebooted and the same error came up. thought it was a problem with the hotels pms not communicatin with the aloha system in the resturaunt.called pos support at 120 per hr to fix this issue but 4 days later and 6 hr@120 per hr here we are with a pen and paper

The next thing you can try is replacing all Aloha files on the terminal.

Copy all files from the Aloha\bin folder on the Server to the aloha\bin folder on the terminal. Then do the same thing for the DATA folder again deleting any .log files.

Make sure the ALoha.ini on the Server has today's date for it's DOB.

This will help eliminate a corrupt file.

did the changes listed and rebooted the term still hung on requirement rule.w/iber error..

Disconnect the network cable from the terminal and see if you can get it to boot up by itself without being on the network.

You may have to change the Downtime.ini to say that the term is the file server. This will help rule out a network issue.

made term fileserv disc network and rebooted ..same error

Sorry I can't be of more help Lost.

Without I can't figure this one out. I am guessing that it is something outside normal Aloha operations that is causing this.

If as you say nothing on the system had changed before it stopped working, everything that we did should have taken out the possibility of Aloha itself having corrupted. I have seen this type of error be specific to version. But, resolving something of that nature goes down to the programming level and above my head.

It could also be in your operating system, but it is hard to believe that the same thing could occur on both terminals at the same time.

thank you for all your help thus far. i am boggled my self if i get it resolved i will post with solution..ty

Try deleting the cdx and tdx files from aloha data and new data first then open aloha manager the close - the files will be re-created.

Since you cahanged your network settings and since they are W98 - do you know if you were you using NetBEUI or tcpip?

Check these settings...
The Configuration tab contains a Components area and Primary Network Logon type. The components area should have Client for Microsoft Networks as the only network client installed. You may have others, but these should only be added if absolutely needed.

You can use either TCP/IP or NetBEUI as a network protocol. Select either one, but both the file server and the terminals must use the same protocol. Double-click the desired protocol, select the Advanced tab, and select 'Set this protocol to be the default protocol'. If you select TCP/IP, Aloha prefers the use of static IP addresses

To add file and print sharing for the Aloha application software, click the File and Print Sharing button and select both options.

The Primary Logon Type is typically set to Windows Logon.

Set the Workgroup name IBERTECH on the file server. or a name can be of your choice as long as it is consistent throughout Aloha.

Ensure that 'Share-level access control' is selected under the Access Control tab.
