IAS - assigning client IP addresses

I have a 3Com SuperStack 3 firewall and IAS configured on a W2K Server. To date, I have been getting the 3Com firewall to assign IP addresses to the VPN clients for the internal network from a defined address range.

I also have a 3Com RAS server for dial-up users and that also assigns IP addresses to a defined range.

Both 3Com units allow IP address assignment to be passed to a RADIUS server and this is what I want. I want both the 3Com firewall and RAS unit to use RADIUS for the IP assignment.

The RADIUS I'm using is IAS and as far as I can see, it won't do it. It looks like it expects the NAS unit to do this, either a MS Remote Access and Routing server or as in my case, a 3Com firewall and RAS unit.

Am I right? If so, I'll have to buy a commercial RADIUS server product that will assign IP addresses.

Many thanks for any help.
