Hoping someone here can help a bit.

I am trying to determine the difference between the IA770 and Modular Messaging options. When would you purchase one vs. the other. I am being sold 2 different concepts by competing vendors. Hoping for some objectivity here.

Thanks.

They are 2 different VM systems. Depends on how you want to use them.

In my bussiness I tend to use IA770 because we are currently on a stand alone model with each gateway being independant. IA770 is a blade within the server. They are cheap and easy to administer in this standalone setting.

but being that the business is undergoing a change and we are centralizing and looking into Unified Communications, we are looking at Centralized Modular Messaging since it interfaces with Exchange Server (vs Exchange as the message store). Modular messaging is the direction Avaya is taking in regadrd to messaging platforms.

You probably should talk to each vendor and find out why they are giving you these different options....let them 'sell' you on their differing strategies. Specifical ask them why they are not offering the 'other' VM system. They should have considered your current business needs and existing architecture, future expected growth, etc, and if they did they wil have a convincing argument for their choice.

IA770 WILL NOT integrate to your email. Intuity Audix LX will integrate to your email. Modular Messaging is the workhorse and will do anything you ask it to!

IA770-darn near free-you get what you pay for!
IALX-affordable-you get what you pay for!
MM-spendy-YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! ;-)

Have you asked either vendor about IALX?
