has anyone ever seen the below alarm:
Messaging Alarms:

ID APP Source EvtID Lvl Ack Location Date
1 CORE VP 1 N No data Wed Jan 9 09:06:02 2008

of course thr Avaya doc has nothing deatiled about it.

yes, that happens sometimes. You might have 1 or more channels out of service. The absolute best way to fixc this, is to go in the "maint web page", under "messaging admin", and "stop the voice system", then "start the voice system"... it might take 10-15 minutes before it is fully backup, don't worry. That should clear that alarm for you.

i wish i could, but the alarm appeared after an unplanned power down & my client would freak if i was to affect service.

Avaya told me one time that if the system powers off ungracefully that you need to stop and start IA770 when the the system comes back up compltetely or you will get weird errors within days or hours.

as gonzalez is telling you, you have no choice. Just do it after hours, that's what we do.

actually, since have some attention, do you reboot your IA770's every 90 days like the older Intuities? if so, do you select reboot server from the web page so the entire box reboots?

I heard that you should reboot IA770 every 45 days but just start and stop IA770 thru the Messaging administration tab.

so rebooting the server is no longer needed, just go into admin & stop & start it????? can anyone else confirm?

I guess you won't be buying me that beer after all tonight hu Captain?? Looks like you will be working.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.
