i586 or x86_64

Hi question on vmwaretools

for suse10 and suse11 linux,

how do I know if I need the i586 or x86_64 version. We are using Sun x4500, x4100 and dell's.

 
If you have installed a 64-bit version of the OS then x86_64, for 32-bit versions use i586
