i2050 v1.4.0 [Build 363] Vista Business PC with 'rundll32 not running'

We've been running the i2050 V3 softphone sotware for a month with our BCM400 V4 & BCM50 V3 systems but recently hit the 'licencing failure' message when launching the softphone application.

So decided to install the softphone software which came with the BCM400 [v1.4.0 build 363] but when I try and go into the configuration settings area, I get the following error 'rundll32 not running' on my Vista Business PC, the app then just shutsdown.

I've been advised that i2050 V3 is for the BCM1000 system and I don't know where i can get V2 from, I have the patch for V2 to .255 build from the Nortel site which doesn't allow me to upgrade from V1.4.0

Anyone else had this issue with Vista Business?? What version of the softphone software, should we be using with Vista??

Only V2 or better is supported on Vista.
What a POS that operating system is huh?

V3 is for the CS1000, not the BCM 1000.
You need to go back to V2.
But, since you only had the upgrade file, you'll need to find the CD that contained the original V2 s/w or purchase it from Nortel.

Why didn't you investigate the Licensing Failure instead of reloading s/w?
Maybe you were using Try N Buy keycodes and you need to purchase keycodes or maybe all of your IP client seats were in use.

Just found this in another thread!

Once installed on a PC, the IP Softphone 2050v3 will run for up to 30 days without receiving a "licence" from the "licence server" and then will stop working.

I2050 v2 still available to order, check with a Nortel dealer.
