Is there a way to use the softphone to control the state of a digital set, i.e. link the two to appear as one phone, allowing the user of the softphone to set forwarding, dnd, etc on the digital set?

No.But if you put the line that is on the digital set on the softphone you can forward the softphone. But that will only FWD the line not the digital set. Plus if you add an answer DN to the softphone it will ring when the digital rings. And make the Alt DN in voice mail to be the 2050.

Tghanks Cook, that's what I thought. If the softphone user has an IP set back at the office and uses Virtual Office to log onto the softphone with the user id of the hard IP phone, then can he control the hard phone? Specifically, if he forwards the softphone or sets DND, do those settings remain when he logs off? I will test this one day when I get a VO license.

If the user has an IP phone at his desk, why not "hot desk" to the soft phone?
