i2050 softphone

do i need an external VPN router in MCM50a to operat i2050 softphone through ADSL connectin, or the VPN router in the BCM50a can be configured to do that?

VPN router in the BCM 50A/e only does branch office VPN tunnels. You'd need another VPN device if you want to terminate client connections.

Had it runs fine with ADSL ( Bell South ) home to CheckPoint VPN. No special setup at all execpt fire up Checkpoint VPN client and go thru the Checkpoint VPN corporate firewall. Actually I got local dial tone from 2 BCM400 and 5 BCM50 without any problem. I had not yet tried thru cable modem but I assume as long as you can get thru your corporate VPN ( ie checking your email , map network drive etc) the softphone will work . I had no luck with BCM50a and gave up after 2 week and just use the already established Checkpoint from my company.
