I'm trying to use the i2050 softphone on one of my BCM 1000 with 2.5 FP1 software. I added the IP Client to the system but I can't connect. I tried to change the auto Registion and auto DN to ON, but the system keeps going back to OFF. Do I also need VOIP trunks to make it work.

no you dont ...
all u need is IP client licenses- and connectivity between the PC with i2050 and the BCM

i just installed one, for some reason - it defaults to M1 settings, even though i downloaded hte client from the BCM

set to port 7000 for a BCM

I think on the earlier versions you had to set up the MSC card to have a minimum of 1 IP client to let you switch it on. I would check the MSC config under resources and check it is set to min of 1.
