Just installed S4 onto an Option 11c. Question. When creating an i2050 softphone how do I associate the software client with the TN ? I cant see it for looking.

You don't have to. When you startup the softphone, the display on the softphone will look just like a I2004 when it asks for the node and TN.

Will this help guide be useful?

How to install & program a Meridian I2050 Soft Phone onto a computer

Install the software in the usual way under “C:\Program Files” etc, using the defaults given within the Setup.exe program. Once completed, You will be asked to reboot the P.C.

Before you start up the I2050 from the desktop, "Click on the Start button". Go to Programs & onto Nortel Networks.

Select from I2050 software phone, the Configuration Tool.

Under "Communications server" select use the following servers address information & enter in the IP address of your configured ITG Line card. E.g. 192.168.0.4

The port should be 4100 (Meridian 1). The other settings within the tool should be ok as they are.
You may need to check the sound devices.

After you have done that, Start up the I2050 phone & you will be prompted to enter in the node & TN.
e.g. Node = "1" & TN = 84 15. Use the Up, Down, Left & Right arrow keys below the display or the “Tab” key to navigate to the correct lines.

It’s a good idea to click on the Nortel symbol (System), Which is located on the top left-hand side of the I2050 Phone box.

It will produce a drop down box. Click on the “Trays” (Top line) & then tick the “Combo” box.
This will open up the keypad & 1st Six Meridian keys for you, below the screen to use.

You can create a shortcut in your programs start up group task bar settings. So that the phone will always fire up when you switch on the Laptop!

All the best

Extra Question. Do you have to seperatley licence the 2050 for it to work on the ITG 3.0. I have seen on the log:

JAN 08 13:21:22 CSV: Warning Registration Attempt from unsupported i2050 set 172.16.2.167

JAN 08 13:22:27 RDP: Error Invalid sequence number received 0xde30 (expected 0xffffffff) for connectID 0x22fa8e8

JAN 08 13:22:27 RDP: Error Delinquent connection 0x22fa8e8 unsynchronized between [10.10.1.100:4100] and [172.16.2.167:4100],previous status was -2

JAN 08 13:22:27 RDP: Info RUDP waiting for messages.

Hope this means something to somebody.

I'd suggest you go into overlay 22 and typ SLT at the request prompt.

This is a typical output

REQ SLT
TNS 2500 LEFT 2310 USED 190
ACDN 300 LEFT 291 USED 9
AST 1000 LEFT 1000 USED 0
LTID 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
DCH 80 LEFT 78 USED 2
AML 16 LEFT 15 USED 1
MPH DSL 100 LEFT 100 USED 0
RAN CON 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
RAN RTE 500 LEFT 500 USED 0
MUS CON 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
ACD AGENTS 10 LEFT 10 USED 0
ANALOGUE TELEPHONES 48 LEFT 20 USED 28
ATTENDANT CONSOLES 2500 LEFT 2499 USED 1
BRI DSL 150 LEFT 142 USED 8
CLASS TELEPHONES 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
DATA PORTS 2500 LEFT 2500 USED 0
DIGITAL TELEPHONES 160 LEFT 68 USED 92
INTERNET TELEPHONES 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
PHANTOM PORTS 2500 LEFT 2500 USED 0
WIRELESS TELEPHONES 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
ITG ISDN TRUNKS 0 LEFT 0 USED 0
TRADITIONAL TRUNKS 2500 LEFT 2460 USED 40
TMDI D-CHANNELS 0 LEFT 0 USED 0

As you can see digital, analogue and IP phones are all licensed and in this example if you plugged in a IP it would not work as none are licensed.

Running S4.

Shows that I still have IP Users left. I thought that if I wasnt licenced for them I would not be able to create them ?

If you are running on release 4.0, you may have to upgrade your IP Line software and the cards firmware. Do you have a signaling server installed?

We had this error message and it was due to a software problem.

Thanks [bold]atascoman[/bold] Your right I have to uograde the software on the ITG card, also upgrade from OTM 2.0 so I can program the upgraded card. None of this mentioned in the S4 upgrade I just had (or the extra memory need for the SCC card)
