Have several users running the I2050 softphone. On the most part, it runs fine. Sometimes quality suffers a little when opening several apps or web sites. I have a few users that can't seem to get decent quality even when not doing anything on their PC. I tested the bandwidth on their ADSL connection and they seem to average 1.5mbs.

Everything is at default with the BCM and I2050. Ary there any settings that I can change that might help (i.e. Buffer, etc..). I don't think I installed the QOS option with the softphone (if that does anything).

Any way of implementing QOS on the PC?

Your problem is most likely not QOS, but the nature of the Internet and dissimilar ISP's at both ends. Unfortunately, it's about impossible to guarantee QOS over the Internet as there are too many variables. That being said, some providers can guarantee QOS, but you need to have their conections at both ends of the equation.

The 2050 does 802.1p prioritization, which won't do much for you over a VPN tunnel. I would recommend that you use G.729 for the 2050's, and set the "audio quality" bar closer to the left than the right (towards "less delay").

Thanks for your comments. Right now on the BCM, the default codec is auto (not sure what that defaults to). I don't think there is a setting for that on the I2050 as well. Will try adjust the settings on the softphone.

Auto is most likely G.711. It can be adjusted on a phone by phone basis through the BCM. BCM Monitor would tell you the codec in use if you have an i2050 on an active call.
