I know nortel reccomends their own branded headset setups with the softphone, but has anyone tried it with other brands. Specifically I was wondering about the Plantronics wireless USB setup? What's the difference (if any) in the quality/function?

I used the Plantronics USB headset and it worked great. The reason they recomand there headset is because thats the one they tested it with.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

My cheapo bestbuy $20 headset with mic works great. Dont have the snazzy talk and release button on the cord though. I also used a separate mic and headset before and it worked OK.

GN netcom and plantronics make great usb headsets. If I remember right the nortel headset is actually made by gn netcom.
