I need to setup a small office remotely and the plan is to use the soft phone enabling 4 people to log in as agents on our call center. I currently have the highest level of DSL available which is 768K up but not guaranteed. I have received a few quotes for a 1.5 T1. I am just trying to get an idea of what the real usage will be.
Thanks

At g711 codec it's 64K per call, but other codecs can get it down sustantially. It's a tradeoff, but with 4 people, it could be dicey with DSL.

Magna or biv would know better.

If using G.729, plan on about 50-60K per call, give or take. BCM monitor will tell you how much bandwidth is being used per call.

Your main issue won't be speed as much as it will be latency, especially if using DSL, VPN, or anything where the Internet is involved.

G.711 will require ~175kbps per call including overhead.

If you can, set up a branch office and hand off the VPN to a hardware device like a BSR222. Latency of 150ms and under is acceptable.

Thanks I have BCM monitor available to me so I will take a look I have several people using the i2050.
Thanks

Also, with any VOIP, if you can get service providers that use the same backbone, your latency and jitter will decrease substantially.
