i2050 and VPN steps

Hi

I'm trying to set-up the i2050 softphone in my laptop but I couldn't figure out what's wrong with my set-up. Can someone explain the steps in configuring the i2050 working on-site as well as the configuration of VPN?

In LAN, I don't have any problem connecting to BCM.

go into the softphone config tool. Set com server ip address to the bcm ip and set port 7000. You will also need under server type BCM

I've done that with ip address of the BCM and I don't have any problem connecting. What I need is how setup the VPN if I want to connect to the BCM remotely, through internet (WAN). Could you give me some advice on how to setup the i2050 client through VPN?

The ones I have setup, you need to establish the VPN first, outside of the softphone setup. In fact the softphone settings should remain the same, regardless of whether or not your on the LAN or trying to make it work through the Internet.
Setting up the VPN can be accomplished in a number of ways depending upon your environment. I would talk to your network admin to find out the preferred method.
