I have a working I2033 on a BCM3.7. When I change the S1 IP to the new BCM50 rel 6, I get to the prompt "Connecting to Server", but it never connects. The BCM50 is local to the I2033 and I have plenty of IP client seats. It is already supporting 10 I2004 phones. I have checked the IP settings and the VLAN settings.

I see a new firmware version 2310S97 on the Avaya website. I have downloaded it (both the .bin and the i2033.cfg files). I have a copy of solarwinds TFTP server and I have set the TFTP Server Root Directory to the proper path "c:\BCM I2033 update\2310S97".

I can't seem to get the I2033 to grab this from the TFTP server, even though I have the correct TFTP server IP configured in the I2033.

What am I missing?

Kind of sounds like a VLAN issue.
If you're using VLANs, did you statically assign the VLAN ID?

Do you have registration enabled on the BCM50?
Are the current patches applied? (specifically SU 017)
Have you tried rebooting the BCM50?

On the TFTP problem, try connecting the set directly to a laptop running Solar Winds with a cross-over cable.

There is no VLAN. Registration is enabled and I added another I2004 with no issue. The BCM50 has the latest patch, ver 013.201208-1 BCM50 R6 Aug 2012 Smart Update.

I will try a x-over cable for Solar Winds, instead of the switch.
