I'm enquiring as to what the simplest, quickest & cheapest way to have agents working from home on Succession 3.0 and symposium? I would also like to know the pros and cons as to what I'm sacrificing by keeping it thin on costs. We need to put up a few agents as quick as possible.

I currently have MCK agents in branch offices, but this is using the multline boxes (8/12 stations). Perhaps a single line unit at home would tie into the multiline version at the office?

Any help, directions or suggestions would be appreciated.

nortel sells an app just for that, works on a dial up, but you end up needing a did and a cot per agent. plus you use an analog and a digital port per agent.. set it up once for 48 agents but don't recall the app name

I believe the product is the 9150. If you have in infrastructure in place you can go IP with a VPN solution.

My understanding from the Tech guy dealing with the Succession 3.0 is that we need an IP Gateway, and a 9150 or a 9115 at each agents place in addition to their IP set? I want to know exactly what is required to IP enable this switch. I was also told that you cannot put a digital trunk card in the Succession that would tie into say a BCM or something like that and hand-off Symposium calls across to the bcm? Comments, ideas, best methods?

If you invest more than 3500£ on new gear i.e a MC32 card for VoIP and new i20xx phones you'll get an upgrade to 4.0 for free on the system, I think that offer should last the rest of the year atleast in the EMEA region. The best thing to do is to integrate it as much as possible, and you do that with VoIP. If you don't need that many agents it's no problem using the MC32 card and get what you need without a Signalling Server. You can even let them work via softphone on their laptop, and by doing that you only need a software VPN on the laptop. If you have a i2004 phone you'll need to purchase a router/firewall for each agent to get access to the network.

I2007,

So an MC32 card for the switch new I200x phones will get remote agents working at home. What router/firewall would you suggest for the home agent? The signalling server is required when you get beyond how many agents? Do you need more MC32 cards for additional agents or is the one sufficient for any IP requirements?
