i've set up a bcm 50 in my office. dsl modem, linksys router bcm 50 no built in router. All connections are good. Im pluged directly into router. My computors are set to obtain ips automatic. So I set my i 2004 phone to DHCP yes, ive read docs that come with bcm 50 up and down but cant find the answers i need. can anyone help. I need to know parameters needed to get the i2004 phone working. Thanks alot everybody!

on second thought i have not. I can ping the router and modem from bcm but have not tried to ping the bcm from computer. I will try in the am, but to my understanding if i ping from bcm to router or router to bcm its the same thing.

Have you enter the config mode on the IP phone and set the DHCP mode to partial and configured the S1 ip address of the BCM and the port 7000.

Marshall

On my website under FAQS there is an example using VPN set up for remote site you should get enough info from that to set up the phone.

yes i went into config dhcp to partial and s1 and s2 to bcm ip. what is the port 7000? what about the other settings? I really appreciate all thge help!

so thats it? No config needed to the bcm itself?

thans alot guys the problem was i was thought the bcm address was the element manager address. when i was unable to ping bcm from my computer i new i had the wrong address. working fine now!thanks again!
