i2002 Upgrade

I have a BCM50R2 with 5 i2002 at a remote site via VPN. All worked OK then one of the phones stopped working. It just locked at FW upgrade & refused to budge. So Nortel advise applying the latest SU,s & that d'nt make any difference. So bring phone to our office & put it on our old R1 & works a treat. So Nortel say faulty phone so send away for repair & bring to customer & you got it locked during FW upgrade. If you go into the set up this phone has a lot more settings that the others. Is there a way to default these phones to factory settings. Have tried to force a FW upgrade but no joy. May be cheaper to jump up & down on this phone. Any advise most gratefully received.
