I would like to run multiple ProCom

I would like to run multiple ProComm sessions from a modem bank that I access through a telnet session. The modem bank is connected to a Xyplex terminal server so the modems are all available on the network. Can anyone explain how to set up ProComm to communicate with these modems?

Appreciate the info. I understand how to set up multiple modems that are connected to my workstation. However, I need to set up ProComm to interface with a modem bank over a LAN via a telnet connection. Can anyone help me out with this?

If the modems are reached over a true telnet connection, then I don't believe Procomm will be able to access those modems for the purpose of dialing out, at least not in the conventional way that Procomm does. This is due to Procomm only being able to communicate with modems over a serial (or an emulated serial) connection, and not a telnet connection. As long as the modem "looks" like a regular modem to Procomm (basically if it shows up in the Modems applet in Control Panel), then Procomm should be able to access the modem. For example, version 4.7 and a couple earlier versions of Procomm shipped with a piece of Novell software that would permit this functionality with modems on a Novell ACS (asynchronous communications server). If Xyplex provides similar software for Windows, then using this software in conjunction with Procomm will hopefully solve your problems. Hopefully this gives you an avenue to investigate, feel free to post more details if I'm not understanding the setup there.

We use a modem bank at my work as well.
We access the modem bank through telnet then the modem bank returns with a connected message telling which modem device is connected. We then use AT commands to control the modem.
ie. We use "ATDT5551212" to dial out to the fictional number 555-1212.
Transmit "atdt 5551212^M"

However I have never tried multiple telnet sessions to the server from from a single PC. I do not know whether that will work or not. As I am currently on vacation I will not be able to test multiple modem bank access for a week or so.
